Sustainability Initiatives at USAI Lighting

USAI Lighting endeavors to become the first name in sustainable lighting products. We cherish our location on the shores of the Hudson River in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley, and seek to preserve the environment in which we live and work. As a company, USAI Lighting strives to become a corporation that integrates environmentally-friendly policies into our organization and minimizes the environmental impact of our own activities through sustainable practices.

Through innovative and energy-saving light fixtures, we are committed to helping our customers meet sustainability goals today, and for future generations to come. To that end, USAI is currently in the process of achieving Declare Labels and Red List Approved status on over 80% of the lighting products we ship. We provide online live listings on a range of commonly used sustainability organization platform websites for all our customers to discover qualified products for their projects.

USAI Lighting products are all over 95% recyclable, with less than 5% of the materials used destined for landfill. Our warranty explicitly guarantees fully serviceable products with replacement parts available for the duration of the life of the light fixture. Additionally, on a case-by-case basis and for every project-specific request, we provide our customers with knowledge, products and solutions that help them rise to meet their own sustainability challenges, with documentation for project transparency, so that environmental issues turn into opportunities for change and growth with product support.

Recyclable Materials

USAI Lighting products are anywhere from 94% – 96% recyclable, with only a few percent remaining destined for the landfill. All of our packaging materials used are 80% recycled, and 100% recyclable.

Energy Savings and Smart Lighting

USAI has pioneered the Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Smart Lighting solutions offering, with over 100 PoE lighting products offered in partnership with Molex, Smartengine, and Platformatics. PoE connected lighting solutions can help save energy costs per square foot for large commercial spaces. Occupancy data helps optimize the use of a space, and also provides the ability to monitor light fixture usage and maintain them in the most efficient manner.

Human Centric Lighting

USAI Lighting was the first company to invent and patent Warm Glow Dimming, and we invented and patented our Color Select Tunable White solution shortly afterward. Tunable white lighting, as well has high output Classic White lighting, can provide adequate light levels to stimulate the circadian system and improve health and wellbeing. These products can also be used to meet the WELL Building standard.
